Countdown week!

Following our first vlog we continued to vlog the rest of the week (apart from Sunday because our rehearsals went so well we actually had a rest day) and also on performance day.

Our second blog closely followed: vlog two

We countdown to our performance and discuss what our rehearsal was about, today it was mostly character work so we had Amber explain what she had us doing!

Vlog three:

Vlog three was very short as we were so tired! But we discussed our very lengthy rehearsal and started getting ready for our mock show and also plugged at people to buy tickets.

Vlog four:

Vlog four we discussed our rehearsal and also showed off our flyers, again we plugged and spoke about how great our rehearsal had gone.

Vlog five:

This was the day of our mock show which we were lucky to have, it went really well and we shouted out to our lovely audience!

Vlog six:

Our last vlog before performance day. We reminded the people of Facebook about our £10 tab competition (people had to like and comment on our post with their seat numbers to win).

Vlog seven:

Our thankyou vlog! Filmed just after we’d finished performing, this was the ultimate shout out to everyone who came to support us.

Our first vlog!

Hey everyone! Today we did our first small vlog as a theatre company. We decided to video the last week of our process to keep our audience in the loop and intrigued about our upcoming show ‘Suitcases in the Hallway’. Our first vlog shows a sneak peak of us backstage, our set and our thoughts on how tech was going. We kept it short and sweet, but from a marketing perspective I thought it would be a great way to involve the audience and make them feel as though they were on the journey with us!

We uploaded this video onto our Facebook as this is the social media that we have had the most impact with. https://www.facebook.com/PushingBoundariesTheatreCompany/videos/1454794884580601/

Fundraiser!

Fundraising overall:

As a theatre company we knew it would be crucial to create our own fundraising day with our own ideas of some great fundraisers. Our first idea was a raffle to win alcohol, as this is a key theme throughout our performance. For a smaller competition we had a jar full of sweets and for people to win the jar, sweets and two tickets to the cinema all they had to do was guess the correct amount of sweets in the jar. We also set up a kickstarter, setting the target as £200.

Raffle and Sweets competition:

We held both our fundraising events across two days, Monday the 25th of April and Tuesday the 26th. On the Tuesday we held a fundraiser at two points on campus: the library entrance and the entrance to Tower Bar. At the library spot we held both the sweets competition and the raffle but at the Tower Bar spot we only held the raffle. This was because we felt the raffle would work more effectively at this site due to the prizes being alcohol therefore connected with the site a little better.

Both me and Chloe also walked around the campus with the jar of sweets, taking it to the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, to the offices in the main building on campus (because offices love sweets) and also to different offices through campus. We sent Sara and Alex around with the raffle book too, and also sent Catherine, Joe and Sarah around tower bar with the sweets jar and raffle book too.

We also used the fundraiser as our first reveal of our posters and flyers, handing them out on the day and pinning them around both sites accordingly.

End result:

Overall, our fundraising events were a success. We were able to engage with our potential audience, hand out important information and also gain an extra £231.75 for our theatre company.
